Lemuel Ward

Lemuel Ward was born in the state of New York, June 11, 1837, and died in Nunica, Friday, September 6, 1912, being at the time of his death seventy-five years, two months and twenty six days old.

He moved to Michigan when thirteen years old. He served in the War of the Rebellion with Company E, Third Michigan Infantry.

He was united in marriage to Sarah M. Fish, on July 3, 1865. To this union nine children were born, of whom seven are living: Ernest Ward, of Fruitport; Silas Ward, of Livingston; Ira Ward, of Oklahoma City; Mrs. E. E. Colburn and Chas. Ward, of Grand Rapids; Wellington Ward and Mrs. Roy Reynolds, of Lake Odessa. Besides his seven children, his wife, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive to mourn his loss.

The funeral was held Monday in the Nunica M. E. Church and burial was in Nunica Cemetery.
