WHITING: I am looking for any information on the parents or siblings of Peter H. WHITING who was born in Claverack, Columbia County, NY, January 1, 1790 or 1791. He married Monica Margaret Huyet dit Champagne in Michigan in 1825. They had the following children: Mary, Emily J., Adeline, George, William Leo, Jonathan (John) W., Chauncey, Elizabeth and Hannah. PETER H. WHITING was a Justice of the Peace in St. Clair Cty., MI in the 1840's. He died March, 1880 in MaComb Cty., MI and is buried in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, MI. Any information on his parentage would be much appreciated.

DONER, Mary Frances, b. 1893, Port Huron MI; d.1985(?), Ludington MI(?); was a writer of numerous books, generally based on Great Lakes area; her father, James DONER was a Great Lakes ship Captain(?), her mother, Mary Jane O'Rourke. Am seeking any info on her family, and her connection to Rose Lucy DONER TRICK, my maternal grandmother.

HARRINGTON - Looking for information on George HARRINGTON and Mary MONAGHAN-HARRINGTON. They appear on the St. Clair Co., MI 1870 census in Ft. Gratiot along with two children, Freddie, age 5, and Georgie, age 4/12. George and Mary were married in Port Huron, Grace Church on December 22, 1868. Both children died young and are buried in Hillsdale Cem. I would like to confirm whether or not George is a son of Uriah HARRINGTON or perhaps Patrick HARRINGTON. Both Uriah and Patrick are shown in Clyde Twp. of St. Clair Co. Uriah is also shown on the 1860 census in Worth Twp., Sanilac Co. I believe George may have been married once before he married Mary. Any information on this Harrington group greatly appreciated.

LITTLE. Looking for descendants of Andrew J. LITTLE and his brother Archibald F. LITTLE. My great-grandfather was Cyrus Austin LITTLE, youngest brother ot Andrew J. and Archibald. Father: Andrew LITTLE born about 1800 Ireland died 1 Apr 1888 Port Huron. Mother: Mary Ann GALLAGHER born about 1812 in Ireland died 18 Mar 1894 Port Huron. Only information I have on Andrew J. and Archibald is as follows: Andrew LITTLE born about 1835 and may have died in 1908. Two daughters; Abbie who at one time lived at 1638 Lyon Street in Port Huron and "Marrie" who lived in West Branch, Ogemaw County. In 1927 Archibald LITTLE was living in Rose City, Ogemaw County. Andrew LITTLE may have been born in New York state whiile Archibald's birthplace may have been Pickering, Ontario, Canada. This is a very large family; if you have any information please contact me. FACER - HORNBY. Are we related? Looking for information on William FACER and his wife Elizabeth HORNBY. William born about 1835 in Port Huron he died in northern Wisconsin 10 Jul 1907. At the time of his death he was deaf but unsure if this was a life long condition. No information on Elizabeth HORNBY. She may have been born in England. William and Elizabeth relocated to Aniwa, Shawano, Wisconsin prior to 1875 but do not know exactly when this occured or why. William and Elizabeth had four known children; two did not survive infancy but the two that did were Frances Dazie FACER born 8 Feb 1875 in Port Huron and Burton Wellington FACER 8 Aug 1878 Port Huron. Letters written to William FACER lead me to believe his father's name was Louis FACER and they may have owned a hotel in the Port Huron area. A funeral notice (date unclear - 1868?) for another William FACER (an uncle?) mentions "Hamer Burial Ground". Another notice announces that Benjamin FACER was admitted as a member of the Sons of Temperance on 8 Oct 1847 "Lafayette Division No. 13." located in Port Huron. May be you can help me find the pieces to this puzzle. Thank you.

Searching surnames: Descendants of James TALBOT B:May 16, 1816 D:May 22, 1881 Married: Marie HOUSE (Gravestone marker reads Marie HOUSE but there has been a Variation noted : Maria HOWES) B: Sept 22 ,1822 and died april 14 1884 in Port Huron Michigan. Buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron Michigan. Children were: John F. FINLEY B: January 19, 1850 M: Elise Catherine BROCKMAN; James H. Talbot; Harry L. Talbot; Sarah Talbot; Nancy Talbot. James and 3 sons were partners in a Newspaper called "The Commercial " in Port Huron Michigan. Would like to find Ancestors and Descendants of James TALBOT and Marie HOUSE. Henry Zacharia GARNER was b: (Canada) or (New York) Feb 10, 1860, d: Jan 9, 1940 in Port Huron. He married Ellen M. BRADLEY, b: Coldwater, Ontario Jun 3, 1865, d: Jan 27 in Port Huron. Henry and Ellen married in Port Huron abt 1896. Henry was a caulker in the ship yards. They had four sons, Joseph H. GARNER, (b: Aug 4, 1897, d: Mar 1, 1951 in Flint). Joseph has service in WWI, (abt 1916) patrolling the Mexican Border with the 125th Infantry Regiment. He married Rose I. BELL (b: 10 Jun 1900 in Mulliken, MI; d: Jul 13, 1970 in Flint) abt 1919-20, they lived in Flint. Joseph was a toolmaker in the auto factory. Arthur W. GARNER, (b: abt 1899, d: unk). Spouse unk. 5 daughters: Carol (married: Ersal (sp), aka: Ert, Van Buskirk, son: Steve Van Buskirk?), Pat, Connie, Virgina, Barbara. I have a photo dated 1957 of Steve Van Buskirk with two cousins (Marty and Dennis Garrod) at Fort George. Luke GARNER, (b: 1900, d: unk), married Lenore (aka Lena) WHITE. Luke had sporadic service in the Marine Corp Reserve between WWI and WWII. Luke joined the army as an MP and had service in Australia abt 1943. Lena is thought to be one of the first, if not the first, woman in St. Clair Co. to join the WAAC abt 1943-1944. She had service in WWII in the South Pacific. Lena had one still born bith (abt 1950), otherwise no children. Luke worked for Grand Trunk Railroad where he was captain of the railroad police force. They owned a home on the Black River. Samuel J. GARNER (b: Dec 25, 1903, d: Jun 66 (Reno?). Samuel married Thetta (Theatta) maiden name unk. They had two daughters, Donna and Joan. Samuel enlisted in 125th Infantry Regiment (Port Huron) on 1 Oct 28. Samuel and Thetta divorced abt 1938. His regiment was inducted into federal service on Oct 15, 1940. The regiment travelled through U.S. until service was seen in the South Pacific. Samuel was discharged from service on 1 Sep 1945, he attained the rank of Major. He met an army nurse by the name of Maxine W. while in California. They eventually married and he moved to CA. Sometime along the way, Samuel had his two daughters (Donna and Joan) with him in CA. This family had very strong ties to St. Catharines, ON. They spent many summers there through at least 1950. Many of Arthur and Ellen's descendents probably still live in the Port Huron area. Someone may have the family bible, and other belongings. I would appreciate any contact.

I am looking for info on my great grandmother: Mary Josetta AUSTIN. Married first: Thomas (H.) WELSH; second: ? AGLA; third: ? HALL; fourth: ? EUSUA. She out lived all her husbands. Believe she died in Port Huron, St.Clair Co, MI between 1921 & 1938. May have been in something like a nursing home, probably the poor house. Believe she is buried in the Agla section of the Washington Cemetery in Sanilac Co. No marker though. Any information would be a great help.

Mary Gray SEARLE, wife of George SEARLE, allegedly died in St. Clair Co, MI about 1866 and was buried in Ruby, MI. I have been unable to verify this. George SEARLE subsequently married Eliza MCBEAN. I have done extensive research of the SEARLE Family. Would be interested in hearing from SEARLE family members. George and Mary Gray SEARLE came from Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, England, first to New York, to Ontario, Canada, to Michigan. After the marriage to Eliza MCBEAN, the family moved to Carthage, MO.

Am searching for information on Laura JOHNS b. 1889 Ohio. Married Floyd GROAT. I believe they lived in Capac, MI before 1910. Had twin daughters (?), drowned in Lake Michigan. Son named Russell GROAT, b. 1909, MI, died 1952. Floyd and Laura also lived in Melvin, MI. After Floyd's death, Laura married Floyd CONKLIN, daughter possibly Blanche CONKLIN.

MEREDITH / LAUNSBURY / HARRISON / BALL Charles W. MEREDITH, b. May 1859, Hamilton, Ontario; son of Cyrus MEREDITH b. June 1836, poss. in Hamilton, Ont.; and Sarah LAUNSBURY who was b. July 1837 in Hamilton, Ont. Looking for further information on the LAUNSBURY family and the MEREDITH family. Families removed to Sanilac and Tuscola Counties, Michigan in 1861. Charles MEREDITH married Sarah HARRISON in 1880 @ Greenleaf Township. Sarah's mother *may have been* Jane BALL. Sarah was prob. born in Port Huron. Any infomation on these families, especially MEREDITH and HARRISON, would be very much appreciated. Frances was prob. a sister of Jane BALL and may have been married to ??? PLAYFORD. There is a Henry BALL b. 1841 who was prob. a brother of Frances and Jane. They were all prob. b. in NY. I also have information now that indicates that Cyrus MEREDITH was a son of William MEREDITH who died in Sanilac Co. about 1890. William was b. abt. 1806 in Lincoln Co., Ontario.
