Deer Slayers
Number of Licenses Issued will Greatly Exceed the Number a Year Ago

The open season on deer commences at 12 o'clock tonight, and for 20 days gunners can find and kill deer in the manner and method prescribed by the laws. The time is very short between 12 o'clock and 7 o'clock tomorrow morning, but it is an even bet that a man will be able to buy venison of this breakfast if he wishes it.

The law also allows the shooting of nearly all other kinds of game; and as there is a certain class of animals, such as bear, wolves, lynx, cat and other smaller animals that are not protected by the game laws, it can be pronounced that considerable game will be bagged.

If indications can be take for anything there will be far more hunters in the woods this year than last year. In this county 164 licenses were issued last season, but in all likelihood that number will greatly exceeded this year. Up to Nov. 7 last year, 68 residents and for non residents licenses had been issued. Word has been sent that other non residents will ask for licenses, and it is known that the resident hunters will be greatly increased. Fooling is a list of the hunters and their full addresses.
