John's father also named John and his wife Josephine with John Jr. and his sister Lena, homesteaded 160 acres in Maple Ridge twp. from 1870 to 1885.

This picture is of my Great Grandparents Herman E Molkenthin & Rosalie Ann Werner-& three of their daughters . back row: Amanda Louise & Herman ,Front Row: Hattie, Agnes (My Grama) & Rosalie. It was taken in Alpena in 1893.

Herman left Germany from Bremen in 1883 & Rosalie in 1882.

They  were married on November 5,1883 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena by Pastor  Wm.Fred. Wendt. their first three daughters were born there & baptized in the same church their parents were married in..
