Leo R.  Nicefield
March 11, 1927 – June 22, 2008
Leo R. Nicefield Port Huron Leo R. Nicefield, 81, of Port Huron, passed away on 
Sunday, June 22, 2008 in his home after a short illness.  He was born on March 
11, 1927 in Detroit, son of the late Ernest and Anna (Visga)  Nicefield. Leo 
married Bertha Woodruff on June 24, 1950 in Port Huron.  He was a longtime 
resident of Port Huron.  Leo worked for Foster Building Supply and Winkworth 
Transit.  He was a sergeant in the United States Army in the Philippines during 
World War II.  He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed 
spending time with family and being the boss. 

Leo is survived by his wife, Bertha Nicefield of Port Huron; son, Leo Robert 
Nicefield of Port Huron; son, Dale E. Nicefield of Port Huron; daughter, Debbie 
Dionne of Croswell; son and daughter-in-law, Harvey and Angie Nicefield of Port 
Huron; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Kim Nicefield of Port Huron Twp.; 
son, Kevin Nicefield of Port Huron Twp.; several grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Don Gerstenburger of 
Oxford, Michigan; sister, Shirley Morrison of Port Huron; and several nieces and 
nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Cowger. 

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements by Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. 
at 17th Street, Port Huron. Memorial tributes may be made to Heartland Hospice.
