Susann Margaret (Geiger) Smaglinski  
November 5, 1937 – April 22, 2023
Susann M. Smaglinski, age 85 of Harbor Beach, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 
2023 at Advent Health in Zephyrhills, Florida. S usann was born on November 5, 
1937 in Harbor Beach to the late Clarence and Emma (Booms) Geiger.  Susann was 
married to the love of her life, Bernard Smaglinski for nearly 65 years, they 
were united in marriage on May 3, 1958.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lake 
Huron Catholic Church of Harbor Beach.  Susann enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing 
cards, playing dominos, travelling to Florida, and taking care of her family.  
She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a 
strong member of her faith, and prayed the rosary every day. 

She is survived by her husband Bernard Smaglinski of Harbor Beach, children: Ann 
(Michael) Kubacki of Ubly, Paul (Evelyn) Smaglinski of Bad Axe, Lidia (Don) 
Glaza of Minden City, James (Patti) Smaglinski of Harbor Beach, Deborah (Bob) 
Gendron of Canton, Jeff Smaglinski of Port Hope, Tom (Melinda) Smaglinski of 
Port Hope, Rosalie (Brian) Bucholtz of Bad Axe, grandchildren: Jill, Katie, 
Jared, Becky, Denise, Paul Jr., Kim, Kayla, Ross, Kristen, Randy, Joseph, 
Joshua, Sarah, Nathan, Vincent, Evan, Grant, Jack, Alexis, Tommy, Emily, Drew, 
Natalie, 22 great grandchildren and the 23rd great grandchild on the way, her 
sister: Mary Ann Jahn and special friend Jack of Port Hope, and many nieces and 
nephews.  Susann was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Emma Geiger, 
and mother and father-in-law: Peter and Rose Smaglinski, brother-in-law Fred 
Jahn, and in-laws: Edna, Ernestine, Gertrude, Helen, Theresa, and Peter Jr. 

Funeral Mass for Susann will be Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:30 am at Our Lady 
of Lake Huron Catholic Church, of the Holy Name of Mary Parish, with Fr. Kevin 
Wojciechowski officiating.  Burial will follow in the OLLH Church Cemetery.  
Visitation for Susann will be Thursday, 2-8pm at the Ramsey Funeral Home of 
Harbor Beach.  Visitation on Friday, will be at the church, beginning at 10 am 
until time of services at 11:30 am.  A Rosary Service will take place Thursday, 
at 7pm, at the Funeral Home.   Published Huron Daily Tribune Tuesday April 25,
