Hilda P. Andres, 82, of Ionia died Wednesday at the Ionia Manor.  She was born, 
the daughter of John and Celia Jacoby Andres, on October 14, 1910 in Keene Twp. 

She was graduated in 1928 from SS. Peter and Paul Academy.  She was graduated 
from Ionia County Normal and later received her B. A. Degree from Michigan 
State University.  She taught in various rural schools in Ionia County and then 
moved to Freeport in 1948, and taught in Barry County, retiring in 1970.  She 
was a member of SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Ionia.  

She is survived by one brother, Ernest of Ionia; one sister, Loretta Slowinski 
of Ionia; and two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday from SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic 
Church in Ionia with the Rev. George Darling officiating.  The organist will be 
Mary Cusask.  Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tom 
O’Mara, Gerard Perry, Lee Feuerstein, Key Watson, and Richard Ransom.  

The family will be at the Rich Street Chapel of Cook Funeral Home in Ionia from 
2-4 and 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.  A memorial has been established for the Education 
Trust Fund of SS. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church, in care of the funeral home.
