Ionia Daily Standard, 1 Apr 1892

Mr. Alphonso D. Bailey, who was stricken with paralysis a few weeks ago, died 
early Sunday morning.  Mr. Bailey was born in Onondaga county, N.Y., in 1830; 
settled in North Plains, on the farm where he died, in 1854, never having moved 
off.  In 1887 he went to Ohio and married Mrs. Chloe Woodruff, who still 
survives him.  Also three boys, Charles, Bert and Floyd, are left to mourn the 
loss of a kind and loving father.  Mr. Bailey served as school director a 
greater portion of the time for the past twenty years.  The funeral services 
were held Monday at the Baptist church.
