Ionia Sentinel – 4 March 1966
Clarence Barbe, 79, a second lieutenant in World War I, died Wednesday in 
University hospital, Lexington, Ky.  He had served overseas during the war and 
was a member of American Legion Post of Ionia.  He is survived by a stepson, 
Merton Olmstead of Orleans; one sister, Mrs. Bess Horn of West Virginia, and a 
brother, Lacey in Kentucky.  Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 pm at Huffman 
funeral home, Belding, with burial at Orleans cemetery.
