Barden, a former resident of Danby township, will be brought here tomorrow (Friday) from Mason, to be buried in the Danby cemetery. Mrs. Barden passed away Tuesday night at the late home at that place, death being due to ailments of old age. Mrs. Barden was born in New York state about 80 years ago, and came to Michigan with her husband about sixty years ago and bought the eighty-acre farm that is now owned by Nelson Dinsmore, in Danby, and lived there eighteen or twenty years, when they moved to Mason. Since moving they have been back to Portland several times and will be remembered by a few of the early settlers in this vicinity. While a resident of this village Mr. and Mrs. Barden were very prominent in the Congregational church. At the time Rev. Boothwell was pastor. Besides the husband, who is a Civil war veteran, she is survived by three daughters, Lena and Effie, who reside at home, and Mrs. Mertie Blanchard, of Williamston.
