Alvin J. Barton, 84, a 413 Smith street, Portland, died at his home Friday
afternoon.  He had been a resident of Portland for the past 76 years and had
been a real estate broker for many years.  He was a member of Portland
Congregational church.

Survivors are his wife, Mabel, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Harris of
Portland and Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Oberlin, Ohio, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Neller funeral
home in Portland.  The Rev. Lowell McCarty will officiate.  Burial will be in
Portland cemetery.
