She was born in Lowell, Aug. 2, 1927, to Claude Booth and Lena Mauer. She married Bernard Baxter on Oct. 25, 1969, in Ionia. Besides her husband, she is survived by five children, Jim (Carol) Tower of Belmont, Larry (Linda) Tower of Portland, Shirley (Russ) McGinn of Ionia, Terry Tower of Belding and Linda (Scott) Nash of Lyons; six sisters, Rosie (Roman) Maloney of Lowell, Joyce (Rex) Crout of Lowell, Marie Stauffer of Belmont, Catherine (John) Geiger of Smyrna, Lucille (George) Roth of N.J. and Irene (Pudge) Vaughan of Lowell; grandchildren, Carrie and Angie, Chris and Mike, Andy, Angela and Kayla and Brenda. Two brothers, Walter and Bill, preceded her in death. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with Fr. Melvin Fox officiating. Interment will be at Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be held tonight from 7 until 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 8:30 p.m.at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia. A Rosary will be held on Friday evening at 8 at the funeral home. Anyone wishing they make contributions to Ionia Area Hospice or Hospice of West Michigan.
