Donald A. Birman aged 78 of Kentwood formerly of Ionia passed away February 14, 
2014.  He was born May 2, 1935 in Ionia the son of Clarence and Iva (Erb) 
Birman.  Don graduated from Lake Odessa High school in 1953.  He married 
Barbara Cline October 22, 1955 in Ionia.  She preceded him in death in 2003.  

Don served in the Michigan National Guard from 1953 to 1959. Along with his 
wife Barb, Don owned and operated the Midway Motel in Ionia for 37 years. 

He is survived by his children Jody Birman of Comstock Park, Todd A. Birman of 
Kentwood and Trevor Birman of Lansing. Grandchildren: Todd Jr, Edwin, Roman, 
Danielle and Holly. Several Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and two sisters. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia Tuesday, 
February 18, 2014 at 1 p.m.  Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 
the time of services.  Those wishing may make memorial contributions to 
American Lung Association.
