The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, September 29, 1941

Alvin Bluemly, 65, of 509 High street, Grand Rapids, died Sunday morning 
following an illness of three or four years.  He was a former Ionia resident 
and was born in Ionia township.  He moved to Grand Rapids about 20 years ago. 

Surviving are the wife, Edna; two daughters, Mrs. B. F. Longe of Detroit, Mrs. 
A. I. Vis of Grand Rapids; six sisters, Mrs. Carrie Meier of Howard City, Mrs. 
Minnie Swenk of Detroit, Mrs. Sophia Callow of Long Beach, California, Mrs. 
Emma Dietrick of Grand Rapids, Mrs. J. W. Webster of Bath and Mrs. Peter 
Christensen of Ionia.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Sullivan funeral 
home in Grand Rapids and at 2 p.m. from the Ionia Church of Christ.  Interment 
will be at Orleans cemetery.  Rev. Kilgour of Grand Rapids will officiate at 
the services and he will be assisted in Ionia by Rev. C. A. Brady.  The body 
will be at the Church of Christ from 1 p.m. until time of service.
