May 10, 2013 LAKE ODESSA- Willard "Bill" Brodbeck, aged 82, of Lake Odessa, went to be with his Lord early Sunday morning, May 1, 2005. Bill was born in Woodland on June 19, 1922, the son of Paul G. and Florence E. (Jordan) Brodbeck. Bill was the seventh of 13 children and was raised and lived in the Woodland and Lake Odessa area. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1940. Bill found Margaret Grace Balduf from Sebewa and never let her out of his heart. They were married on March 6, 1949 and began a life of love for 56 years. They had seven children; 19 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Faith brought Bill though every season of life. With Margaret at his side, they together built a large farm, starting with only three cows and six pigs. Farming is hard work, but Jesus made Bill's burdens light. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Robert, Russell, Carroll and David Brodbeck; grandchildren, Abraham Brodbeck, Jr. and Cindy Brodbeck; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Brodbeck. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; children, Naomi (Roger) Wilson, Esther (Alan) Sellman, Peter Brodbeck, Philip (Dawn) Brodbeck, Mary (John Schmitt) Brodbeck, Jacob (Frieda) Brodbeck, Abraham (Keetsie) Brodbeck; sisters, Helen Miskie, Mary Ulrey, Patricia (George) Ellcey, Caroline Brecheisen and Jacqueline Meade; brothers, Paul (Carol Ann) Brodbeck and Larry (Marie) Brodbeck; and many nieces and nephews and other family members. Visitation will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 4 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the family for a cause that will be determined later.
