Gerald L. Brown, 67, 634 West Main, died Monday morning at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Brown was born in Yale, Feb. 19, 1912, the son of Milton and Ruby Davis 
Brown.

He graduated from Lake Odessa High School and began work at Ionia State 
Hospital in 1934.  He started as a ward attendant and worked his way up to 
general supervisor of attendant personnel before retiring in 1974.

He was married to Grace Wyman in December 1933 in Goshen, Ind.  The two made 
their home in Ionia most of their married life.

Survivors include, his wife, Grace; a son, Richard, of Grand Rapids; two 
grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. George (Galyia) Brown, of Ionia.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with 
the Rev. Leo Kostizen officiating.  Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.  The 
family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 
p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  A memorial fund has been 
established at St. John’s Church.  Contributions may be left at the funeral 
home.
