LORRAINE BUSHNELL DIED SAT. MORNING.
Graduate of L.O High School, 1929, Took Business Course in Grand Rapids, 
Employed by Gates & Huntzinger

Lorraine Bushnell, the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Edson Bushnell, passed 
away at the home of her parents Saturday about 11 a.m. after a lingering fight 
against tuberculosis, that disease so fatal to young people. Everything possible 
was done for this young woman and her condition did not seem to indicate 
immediate fatality when the final summons came.

She was a graduate of Lake Odessa high school class of '29. After graduating she 
took a course at the Grand Rapids Business University and immediately began 
working for Gates & Huntzinger, where she remained nine months as bookkeeper but 
was obliged to leave on account of her health. Miss Bushnell had a quiet and 
refined personality and was respected by all who new her. While attending school 
or in her capacity as bookkeeper she made her home with her aunt and uncle, Mr 
and Mrs Warren Johnson, on Tupper Lake street.

The funeral was held at the home Tuesday afternoon. Besides her parents she 
leaves two sisters, Marian a school teacher at Lowell, and Lauretta, who is 
employed at the McCartney store, this village.

Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.

The family have the sympathy of any friends as they have been called to undergo 
many afflictions in the way of illness and operations, the past few years. The 
mother very bravely endured and is recovering from a most serious operation in 
the last few months.
