Lake Odessa Wave-Times September 2, 1910

                                  OBITUARY
Oliver Cheney was born in Charleston, Kalamazoo county, Mich., where he spent 
his boyhood days afterwards moving to Carlton, Barry county, Mich. and from 
there to Lake Odessa eleven hears ago, where he resided until his death, Friday 
eve. at six o'clock,  Aug.26, 1910, aged 69 years, 4 months, 28 days.

February 1868 he was united in marriage with Miss Ann Alida Hanna of Irving. To 
this union were born four children, Charley Cheney who resides on the home farm, 
Mina Demaray of Lake Odessa, Allie Cheney of Carlton and Dora Murdock who died 
in Feb. 1908.

Mr.Cheney enlisted in the service in 1863 and served until Sept. 1865, in Co.C. 
1st regiment, Michigan Engineers and Mechanics. He leaves to mourn their loss a 
wife and 3 children, 8 grandchildren, one brother and two sisters living  near 
here.

ways during the sickness and at the time of the death and burial of our beloved 
companion and father.
