Bernice M. Dean, 80, of 220 E. First St., Stanton, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at
Metron of Greenville.  She was born April 8, 1922, in Saranac, the daughter of
Russell and Lila Batey Wells.  She married Rollo C. Dean on July 3, 1946, in
Brywn, Ohio.  Mrs. Dean was a longtime resident of the Sheridan and Stanton areas.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gerald Lake in 1992.  She is survived by
her husband, Rollo C. Dean; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Herb Olson of
Grand Rapids; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters and
two brothers-in-law, Betty Adams of Lansing, Ilene Lake of Ionia, Joyce and Bob
Utter of Fenwick, Bonnie and Jessie Cross of Clarksville; four brothers and
sisters-in-law, Vernon and Ruth Wells of Ionia, Wayne and Barb Wells, Roy and
Crystal Wells, all of Saranac, Norm and Donna McKellups of Ionia.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home,
Sheridan, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. 
Interment is in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.  Visitation is 7 to 8:30 p.m.
today at the funeral home.
