Fyan Sr., 66, of 6912 Musgrove Highway, Sunfield, died June 10 in a Lansing hospital. Born April 21, 1919, he was the son of LaVern and Iva Bayne Fyan. He was a veteran of World War II and was employed as a construction engineer for Clifton Engineering of Lansing. Surviving are his wife, Viola, four sons, Fred Jr. of Lyons, Wayne of Freeport, Gordon of Sebewa, and Bruce of Lake Odessa; three daughters, Mrs. Philip (Joanna) Rhoades and Mrs. Robert (Susan) Kruger both of Sebewa and Mrs. James (Lue Ann) Sweeney of Freeport; 24 grandchildren; two brothers, Harry of Grayling and William of Midland; three sisters, Beatrice Anderson of Midland and Bertie Syring of Auburn, Mich., and Berditi Hammond of Bay City. Several step brothers and sisters also survive. Funeral services were Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, the Rev. Harold Buchanan of Sebewa United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Sebewa Cemetery with Rodney, Steven and Gordon Fyan, James Sweeney, Phillip Rhoades and Otis Posey acting as pallbearers.
