She was born on June 25, 1916 in Orange Twp., the daughter of Ray and Queenie (Robertson) Barnard. Mrs. Galloway held various offices in the following organizations: LeValley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Church Women United. Lucy also was a member of the Central District United Methodist Women, the West Michigan United Methodist Women and received an award for being Church Women United as a Valiant Woman. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Edwin Galloway on June 13, 1976. Surviving are her children, Roberta (Robert) Helms, Clinton Galloway (special friend Kirsten Slowins), Nancy (Norman) McKendry, Gordon (Cheryl) Galloway, Roderick (Bonnie) Galloway and Rodney (Chris) Galloway; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Robert Barnard of Grand Rapids, MI, Kenneth (Mildred) Barnard of Franklin, VA, Dale Barnard of Philadelphia, PA, Rachel Zimmer of Portland, MI, Ruth Ann Summers of Vermontville, MI and Lolabelle Whitley of Fyffe, Ala. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at LeValley United Methodist Church, Ionia, with the Rev. Mark Johnson, Pastor and the Rev. Marilyn V. Danielson, Pastor of the Portland United Methodist Church co-conducting. Interment will take place in the spring at Balcom Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, and from 10 a.m. until the the time of the service on Tuesday at the church. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the LeValley United Methodist Church, or to the Charity of One's Choice, in memory of Mrs. Galloway.
