Leaves Widow and Two Sons. After several months’ illness Philip Garlinger, who has lived near here for forty years, passed away at his home Wednesday of last week. Mr. Garlinger is a cousin to Samuel and Benjamin Garlinger who also settled near here about that time and who were in business here. Mr. Garlinger was a quiet man but congenial and in close friendship with his neighbors. His home is located just over the line in Woodland township. He was married to Miss Fredrica Mutschler in 1891. The funeral was held at the Evangelical church May 13. The pastor Rev. Riebel preached and Arthur and Irwin Bates sang. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery. Besides his wife he leaves two sons Lawrence and Albert, at home and four nieces Mrs. John Smith Woodland, Mrs. Jacob Miller, Woodbury, Mrs. Mary Cassel and Mrs. Katie Squires of Lansing; and two nephews, Reuben of Hastings, and William Garlinger of Woodland.
