Woodland Woman Dies Unexpectedly

Mrs. Wilhelmina "Minnie" Garlinger, 81, of Woodland, passed away Wednesday 
evening, Nov. 20, unexpectedly while attending a meeting at the Methodist church 
in Woodland.

A native of Woodland township, she was the former Minnie Wachter, and married 
Samuel Garlinger, June 15, 1903 and lived in the local area for many years After 
his death in June of 1932. Mrs.Garlinger lived at Sparta for awhile operating a 
women's apparel shop. She had resided at the Gilbert McLeod home for ten or more 
years.

She was a member of the Woodland Methodist Church and the WSCS of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.Eva Wabese of East Lansing; three grandsons, John 
and Gregory Wabese of East Lansing and Jerry of Sparta; one granddaughter 
Delores Leonard of Orangeville, Calif, and three great-grandsons. A son Hubert 
passed away in March of 1955.

Funeral services at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside 
Cemetery. Rev. Richard VandenBosch of Sparta and Rev. Laurence Lowell 
officiated.
