          HENRY GEIGER DIED THURSDAY
   Henry Geiger 82, retired stone and brick mason, passed away unexpectedly Thursday
afternoon.  Coroner Dale Kauffman said death was due to a heart attack.
   Mr. Geiger was trimming trees at the Arthur Thomas home when he felt ill and
descended from the ladder and collapsed.
   He was born west of Woodland and has been a resident here for 43 years coming
from Vermontville.
   Surviving are his wife Ruth B., two daughters, Mrs. Harvey Slocum of Ionia and
Mrs. Jack Spencer of Lake Odessa;  three sons, Paul of Woodland, Russell of rural 
Lowell and Esten of Muskegon;  two sister, Lena Bishop of Hastings and Mrs. Charles 
Sisson of Marcellus;  one brother Fred Geiger of Woodland;  16 grand children and 
16 great grand children.
   Funeral services were held Saturday at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in
Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. A. J. Pitman officiated.
