The death of Lawrence W. Gephart, former resident of this city, took place at
his home at Alto Saturday evening following a long illness.  Mr. Gephart was for
a number of years a resident of this city.  He was born at Lakeview on September
23, 1887, and came to this city as a small boy with his parents, the late Mr.
and Mrs. Michael Y. Gephart.  His father was for several years treasurer of this
city.  During Mr. Gephart’s residence here he was united in marriage to Miss
Bessie Fisk of this city.  Mr. Gephart was 59 years old at the time of his
death.  He was a member of the Alto Methodist church and the Alto Businessmen’s
Association.  Surviving are the widow, Bessie; two sons, Walter F. of Leslie,
this state, and Richard L., at home; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Kendall, of Maple
Rapids; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Carl Brakeman, of Detroit, and a
brother, Rudolph, of Beaverton.  Funeral services were held at the Alto
Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock and the body was brought to the
Otisco cemetery, just west of the city, for interment.
