Committal services for Dennis Gilmore, 6-year old son of Russell Gilmore of 
Long Lake and Mrs. Arthur Piggott of Las Vegas, Nev., were held at 11 a.m. 
Thursday at Woodard Lake Cemetery.

The Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding conducted the graveside service and only 
members of the family attended.

The child was shot and killed by his grandfather Stanley Gilmore Monday 
morning at the Woodard lake farm home of the Gilmores.  Gilmore also shot and 
killed his 58 year old wife Emma and then shot himself.

Attending the committal services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Piggott who drove 
to Ionia from Las Vegas; Mrs. Angeline Farrell of Grand Rapids, the child's 
grandmother; Willard Farrell of Ionia, the grandfather; Mrs. Robert Kidner of 
Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kidner, Mrs. Leona Chritian and Mrs. 
Robert Wier, all of Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Piggott of Portland.

The child's mother was the former Virginia Farrell of Ionia.

Funeral services for Mrs. and Mrs. Gilmore and Dennis were held Wednesday 
aftern at the Boynton funeral home.
