Ionia Sentinel, 2006

Louisa Emma Goodell, aged 89, of Saranac, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006 
in Ionia.  She was born September 4, 1916 in Cheboygan, Michigan the daughter 
of Fredrick and Francella (Rands) Burgtorf.  She married Don Goodell, who 
preceded her in death in April 2002.  Louisa taught country school in Saranac 
Area, Belding High School and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.  She 
was a member of First United Methodist Church of Belding.

She is survived by her brothers, William Burgtorf of Orleans, Jack Burgtorf of 
Hastings. George and Evelyn Burgtorf of Saranac, several nieces, nephews, great 
nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by three brothers and one 
sister.  A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday at Lake Funeral Home 
in Saranac with Pastor Connie Scholl and Pastor Frank Lattimore officiating.  
Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Saranac School Library.
