Portland Observer – Wednesday, 4 April 1900
Mrs. Ella Raider Green, daughter of Isaac and Lydia Raider, was born in 
Hancock county, Ohio, June 2nd, 1867, died March 17th 1900, aged 32 years, 9 
months and 17 days.  In 1882 she came to Michigan with her mother, her father 
having died the year previous.  March 9th, 1886 she was married to Albert 
Green.  Three children blessed this union.  October last she gave her heart to 
the Lord and rejoiced in the love of her Savior.  She has been a long and 
patient sufferer, but in all her suffering she possessed a cheerful and 
submissive spirit.  She was fully resigned to her heavenly Father’s will and 
ready to go when the call came.  She was a loving wife and an indulgent 
mother.  She was held in high esteem by all and beloved by those who knew her 
best.  Funeral services were held from the Hall M. E. church in Orange 
township, Ionia County, Mich., March 21st, 1900 by Rev. C. L. Bradley.  
Interment was made in the Portland cemetery.
