Sentinel-Standard - Saturday, Feb. 3, 1951

Jesse A. Guernsey, 73, died Friday morning at the Sawtell veteran's hospital in 
Los Angeles, Calif. An Ionia county resident all his life, he had been visiting 
a son, Alvin, at Van Nuys, Calif. since November.

He was born July 4, 1872, in Ionia county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin 
Guernsey. He was a cabinetmaker and decorator by trade. He served during the 
Spanish-American war and was a member of the V.F.W.

Surviving are three sons, Harold of Sterling, Huber of Greenville and Alvin of 
Van Nuys, Calif., and five grandchildren.

The body will be brought to the Stone-Kauffman funeral home where funeral 
arrangements will be made.
