Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 20 Apr 1953

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at North Plains church by the Rev.
Court O. Adams, pastor of the First Christian church of Ionia, for Austin C.
Hayes, 77, of Muir who died Wednesday, April 15.  Mrs. Suzanne White had charge
of the music.  Members of the Lyons lodge, F. and A.M., attended the services in
a group and acted as honorary escorts.  Carroll Kennedy, was master of the lodge
and Stephen Kimball was acting marshal.  Bearers were Nathan Greenhoe, J. Lee
Strachan, Foster Lake, Francis Krueger, Harry Struble and Frank Soper.  Burial
was in North Plains cemetery.

Attending the services from away were H.J. Hayes of Detroit, Mrs. Gertrude
Reynolds of Toledo, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Elias DeGarmo, Miss June DeGarmo, Mrs.
Irene Heptner of Milford; Mrs. Frank Keller and Mrs. Raymond DeGarmo of Highland
and Mr. and Mrs. Hardin Eddy of Flint.
