For a number of years he was cashier of the first National Bank of Greenville and was highly respected as a man of many virtues. After he left Greenville he lived on his farm in Orleans. Later, as his health failed, he removed to Belding and resided with his wife in the Broas homestead with Mrs. Broas, the mother of Mrs. Hill. Comrade Hill was a veteran of the war of the rebellion, a lieutenant in the 25th Mich. Inf.
