Excerpts from Ionia Obituary

JEAN ROSALEE HOLTHER

Died May 13, 2026-age 87.
Born January 9, 1939 in Ionia, daughter of Fred & Iva Holther.
She lived a country childhood there with her brothers Karl & Robert & sister 
Kathleen.
Attended a one room school house & graduated from Ionia High School in 1957.
Married her high school sweetheart. They had five children & lived in Ionia for 
20 years.
In 1978, Jean moved to Ann Arbor with her children & started a new independent 
life & to study.
She was working at the University of Michigan while studying for her bachelor's 
degree at Eastern Michigan University.
In 1983 in Ann Arbor she married Scott Trowbridge.
Graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1989 & in 1994 received Master's 
degree in Teaching English as a second Language.
She took up travel, photography, & pottery & got to experience the cultures of 
Central America, Mexico,Samoa & Europe.
Survived by her husband Scott, brother Karl, sister Kathleen & Children Kammi, 
Kevin & Kip.
Also leaves her grandchildren, Jared, James, Janee, Michael,Matthew, Andrea, 
Craig, Miles & Hazel; 
Great-grandchildren, Drake, Daisy Keegan, Kameron, Lizzie, Kollin, Ellie, Renee, 
Cali, Ronin, Michio, Macha & Miso; & great-great-grandchildren Maezie & 
Lauralee.
Her daughter Kacee died in 1989 & son Kelly in 2015 & grandson Mitchell in 2019.
Cremation has taken place & no memorial service.
Memorial gift can be given to Kacee Cronk Scholarship fund or Doctors Without 
Borders.
