Velma B. King, 82, of Tustin, passed away September 28, 2003 at Mercy Hospital 
in Cadillac.  She was born February 4, 1921 the daughter of Leon Earl and 
Frieda (Kosbar) Barton.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo.  She 
moved to Manton, Cadillac and the Tustin area from Ionia and has lived in the 
Tustin area for the last several years.  On February 25, 1937 she married 
Elwin N. King in Ionia and he preceded her in death in 1988.  She was also 
preceded by a daughter, Thelma Moore, a son, Gordon King, and two brothers, 
Vernon and Kenneth Barton.

She is survived by son, Gary (Juanita) King of Elsie; 15 grandchildren, 
including Vicki (Mickey) Moore of Tustin with whom she lived; 34 great-
grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Thelma Moon of 
Interlachen, Florida.

Memorial service will be Saturday, October 11, at 1 p.m. at Tuttle Cemetery in 
Ionia.  Arrangements handled by the Peterson Funeral Home of Cadillac.
