Sheehan today received a telegram announcing the death of James Manning, at Chicago, Ill. The remains will arrive here at 11:30 tomorrow, and the funeral service will be held from the church of SS. Peter and Paul soon after arrival. Mrs. Manning (nee Jennie Sullivan) is well known in this city , having been a resident for several years. ------------- Ionia Standard, page 1, 11 Mar 1904 Brought to Ionia for Burial. The remains of James Manning arrived in Ionia at 11:32 Tuesday, from Chicago, accompanied by the sorrowing widow and other relatives, who were met at the depot by a number of Ionia friends. The remains were given interment in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased was years ago a fireman and engineer on the old D.L.& N. Lake Division No. 302, B. of L.E. of Chicago, sent an exceedingly handsome floral cross, measuring four feet high. Attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. William Sullivan, and Mr. and Mrs. M.B. Sullivan of Grand Rapids; James Settle and Miss Mabel Settle of Chicago; Mrs. William Settle of Muir, Mrs. E.O. Betts of Greenville, Timothy Beahan of Hubbardston.
