Ionia Sentinel Standard – 7 April 1969
Elizabeth Ross McChristie, 88, of 706 West Main died late Saturday evening at 
Ionia County Memorial hospital after being a patient two days.  She was born in 
Dreghorn, Scotland, December 22, 1880 the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth 
Ross Cunningham.  She made her home in Scotland until the age of 31.  She was 
married to James McChristie on December 30, 1901, coming to Ionia with her 
husband and family in 1911 and made her home in Linton, Indiana until Mr. 
McChristie died in 1942.  She then moved to Calumet City, Ill., and in 1953 
came to Ionia to live with her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Reiger.  She was a 
member of First Christian church in Ionia.





Survivors are a son, Alex McChristie, Santa Barbara, Calif.;  four daughters, 
Elizabeth McChristie of Santa Barbara, California, Mrs. Margaret Reiger of 
Ionia; Mrs. Roland Clement of Manistee and Janet McChristie of Bloomington, 
Ind.; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.



Funeral services will be at Boyton-Leddick funeral home Tuesday evening at 7 pm 
with the Rev. Theodore Forbes of First Christian church officiating.  Graveside 
services and interment will be at Fairview cemetery in Linton, Ind; Wednesday 
at 2 pm.  A memorial has been established for First Christian church.
