Ionia Sentinel Standard, 19 Jul 1971

Mrs. Courtland McKay, 80, of Saranac died suddenly Saturday in Saranac of an
apparent heart condition.  She was born August 22, 1890, in Keene township and
taught in the Saranac school system many years.

A member of Order of Eastern Star she also belonged to the Saranac Community church,
Literary club and was a member of Saranac library board.  Her husband, Walter McKay,
died in 1923.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Orval McKay of Lowell; three grandchildren; two brothers,
Aylmer Potter of Ionia and Charles Potter of Zephyrhills, Fla.

Funeral services were Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home in Saranac
with interment at Saranac.
