Ionia Sentinel Standard, 3 Jan 1955

George W. Micks, 61, of 458 East Lincoln avenue, died Friday afternoon, December 31,
at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Micks was born in Ionia, February 22,
1893, and was employed by the Ypsilanti Reed and the Ionia Manufacturing Company for
40 years.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Ionia Hunting and
Fishing club and the Twin River Conservation club.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel, and two daughters, Mrs. George Ryan of Mt.
Clemens and Mrs. Paul Wills of Warren; two grandchildren; one brother, Albert, of
Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hinds of New York City and Mrs. Lezzie Green of
London, England.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Myers funeral home
with the Rev. Court O. Adams officiating.  Interment will be in the family lot at
Highland Park cemetery.
