Ionia Sentinel Standard, 26 Feb 2005

Violet E. Mier, aged 70, of Ionia, passed away Thurs, Feb. 24, 2005 in Ionia.  
She was born Oct. 16, 1934 in Ionia County the daughter of Robert and Anna 
(Teft) Munger.  She married Carl Mier Mar. 6, 1954.  He preceded her in death 
in 1985.  She farmed with her husband for over 25 years.

She is survived by her sons Thomas (Tina) Mier of Lake Odessa and Dan (Roxanne) 
Mier of Ionia; brothers, Robert Munger of Ionia and Roy (Connie) Munger of 
Ionia; sisters, Linda (Fred) Nielsen of Perrinton and Marion Brimmer of Muir; 
grandchildren Robert Mier, Daniel (Maggie) Mier, Marisa Mier and Jason Mier; 
and great-grandchild Camden.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, 
Glen.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mier will be held Monday 11 a.m. at Shiloh Community 
Church with Pastor Rob Atkinson officiating.  Visitation will be on Sunday 2 
p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home in Muir.  
Anyone wishing may make memorial contribution to Commission on Aging or Ionia 
Area Hospice.
