Sentinel-Standard - Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1974

A former Ionia resident, Harvey (Bill) Miller, 51m died Friday at Fairbanks, 
Alaska.

He was born June 10, 1923, in Mecosta county, the son of Alfred and Sally 
Cotton Miller. He moved to Ionia when 15.

He was a veteran of the army in World War II. In 1955 he moved to Alaska and 
was employed by the USE Belli Coal Mine Company as a heavy equipment operator.

Surviving are two sons, James Miller of Kentucky and Tracy Miller of Alaska; 
daughter, Brandy Miller of Alaska; one grandson; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret 
Moon, of Ionia, Mrs. Mary Wilson and Mrs. Dorothy Waldron of Greenville, Mrs. 
Louise Hoskins and Mrs. Ruth Ann Evetts of Belding. 

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 pm at the Mecosman funeral home. Rev. 
Roger Gifford will officiate and graveside services will be Saturday at 1:30 pm 
at the Mecosta cemetery.
