She had been sick about 5 weeks. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Baptist church. Since coming to this village, Mrs. Moore has acquired a large circle of friends, and was beloved by the entire community. She was a devoted wife, and many will join in offering their sympathy to the sorrowing husband, who is suffering helplessly with rheumatism. Marilla Bellamy was born in Indiana, and 35 years ago came to Michigan and married Charles Moore. The couple have resided in Portland ever since. Besides the husband, she is survived by a brother, Manford Bellamy, of Arcola, Indiana, and a sister, Mrs. Clay Newman, of Lansing. At the time of her death Mrs. Moore was 61 years of age. She had been a resident of this place for about 35 years.
