Although he had suffered a heart ailment for some time, he was at work Thursday at Weber Electric company where he was employed. Mr. Mowatt was born September 14, 1896, in Saranac moving to Ionia as a young boy. He was a veteran of World War I, enlisting June 26, 1918. He served as a private in the Toul sector from November 2, 1918 until November 11, 1918. Mr. Mowatt was employed for 17 years at the Wagner clothing store and for the past eight years has worked as a salesman for Weber Electric company. He was a member of the American Legion and the First Methodist church. Surviving besides his wife, Mildred, is a son, Jack, of Ionia, one grandchild; a brother, George, of Jackson; and a sister, Mrs. Ellsworth Jones of Adrian. Funeral services will be held Monday from Myers funeral home at 2 o’clock with burial in Balcom cemetery. The Rev. Dwight M. Kitch will conduct the services.
