Ionia Daily Sentinel, 22 Oct 1951

Stanley Nead, 71, of 611 West Washington Street, died at his home at 2:30 a.m. 
Monday, October 22.

He was born April 19, 1880, in Big Rapids.  He was prominent in the shoe 
business in this part of the state for 46 years, working at the Douglas Shoe 
company in Ionia for ten years.  He moved from Ionia to Detroit 27 years ago 
and worked at the A.F. Beck Shoe company there for 14 years.  He returned to 
Ionia June 9, 1951.

He was a member of the Elks lodge at the time of his death, joining in 1907.

Surviving are the wife, Erma; a son, Robert, of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Fred 
Cook of Detroit and Mrs. August Keruger of Ionia, and a brother, Ray Nead of 
Grand Rapids.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Myers funeral home.  
The body will be removed to Detroit for cremation and interment at Evergreen 
cemetery.
