Pauline E. Pierce, age 94, of Holland and formerly of Ionia, died Saturday 
Aug. 1, 2009 at Oak Crest Manor in Holland.

Pauline was born the daughter of George and Carrie (Ives) Seaman in Bailey, 
Mich., May 25, 1915. Pauline lived most of her life in Ionia before moving to 
Holland in 1997. She was a longtime member and volunteer at The First United 
Methodist Church in Ionia. She also volunteered for the Commission on Aging in 
Ionia.

Her family includes: two granddaughters, Erika Pierce of Holland and Megan 
(Willie) Terry of Grand Rapids; great-grandson Noah Terry; brother George and 
Violet Seaman of Grand Rapids; and close friend Mitzi Miedema of Holland and 
several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Pauline was preceded in death by her 
husband Max Pierce in 1988, and son Lawrence E. Pierce in 2004.

A graveside memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday Aug. 7, 2009 Sunset 
Memorial Gardens in Ionia, 2811 S. State road.  Memorials may be made to First 
United Methodist Church of Ionia. Arrangements by The Northwood Chapel Dykstra 
Life Story Funeral Home 295 Douglas Ave. Holland, Mich.
