DAVID PIERCE, 67
David W. Pierce, 67, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020.
He was born April 3, 1953, in Ionia, Michigan to Donald "Danny" and Heather 
(Renwick) Pierce. He was a 1971 graduate of Ionia High School. David was a proud 
graduate of Michigan State, where he received his degree in criminal justice. He 
worked for the Michigan department of Corrections as a probation and parole 
officer for over 30 years prior to his retirement. On July 29, 1989 he married 
the former Blyth McPhall on Mackinac Island. David was an avid bird  hunter and 
fisherman and enjoyed these activities along with his son, Evan. He also loved 
spending time at the family cottage on Long Lake. He was a wonderful husband, 
father, and grandfather and family was very important to him.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Blyth; two children, Erin (Alex) 
Cochrane and Evan (Shawna) Pierce; six grandchildren, Maleah Pierce, Madison 
Pierce, James Cochrane, Leighton Pierce, Ellia Cochrane, and Lennon Pierce; his 
mother Heather Pierce, brother, Craig (Janelle) Pierce; two sisters, Kathleen 
(Ted) Geldhof and Colleen (Bruce Roteman) Pierce; several nieces and nephews; 
and his special hunting dog, Emma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Pierce.

According to David's wishes, there will be no services.
