She was born March 18, 1885 in Ovid the daughter of Fred Carpenter and Della Sherburne Carpenter. January 1, 1913 she was married to Charles Pilkinton and he died in January 1918. She has lived most of her life at 313 Division and was employed many years as a telephone operator with Citizens Bell Telephone and Michigan Bell and was retired several years ago. Surviving are a brother, Vern Carpenter of Spokane, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Jessie Van Dyke of Clearwater, Fla. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. Rev. Robert McComb of First Presbyterian church will officiate and interment will be at Ovid cemetery.
