May 13, 1967 Funeral services for Glenn Piper will be Monday at 2 pm at First Methodist Church with Rev. Lester Bailey officiating and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Piper died suddenly at his home at 616 Bagley Street, Friday night. He was born July 14, 1902, in Orleans the son of Frank and Grace Piper. In 1926 he was married to the former Jane Gildemeister and has resided in Ionia since. July 19, 1967 he would have been retired after 44 years of service with Consumers Power Company. His wife, Jane survives him and also three sons, Donald, with the US Navy in Virginia, Frank of St. Johns and David of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Moon; 15 grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Donald Johnson of Palo, Mrs. Ruth Munger, Mrs. Alice Branton and Mary Piper, all of Fenwick. He was a member of First Methodist Church, past master of Ionia F&AM lodge 36, Royal Arch Mason and past patron of Eastern Star. A memoriam has been set up at both the funeral home and Methodist church and the body will be at Myers funeral home until 1 pm Monday when it will be taken to the church. Masonic memorial service will be Sunday at 7:30 pm at Myers funeral home.
