                              VICTOR L. POOLE

SARANAC-Victor L.Poole, 85, of 62 Center Street, Saranac, died at Orchard Hills 
Hospital, Belding, Friday.

He was born in Boston Township Oct.21, 1901, the son of Asa and Harriet Goodale 
Poole.

He owned and operated Poole's Pastry Shop for 35 years.

He was a member of Saranac I.O.O.F.and a life member of the Masons.

He was a past member of Saranac village Council and a past village president; he 
was also a former member of the Saranac School Board.

A lifelong Saranac resident, he also owned and operated Belding Style Shop, 
which still remains in the family.

He was married to Thelma Dyk inIonia in 1926, she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Marjory Cahoon of Belding, Mrs.Richard 
(Virginia) Christiansen of Saranac and Mrs.Thomas (Sharon) Updike of Comstock 
Park; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-
law,Mary Jane Dyk of Belding.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. from the Saranac Community Church with 
the Rev. Stanley Hagemeyer officiating.

Burial will be in Saranac Cemetery.

 A Memorial for the Arthritis Foundation has been established in care of the 
funeral home.
