L. D. Rice, 82, of Belding, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Metron of 
Belding nursing home.  He was born June 27, 1924, in Hillman, the son of 
William and Maize Fisher Rice.  L. D. Retired from Extruded Metal in Belding 
after working for more than 40 years.  

L. D. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna Mae; his brother, 
John Rice; and two sisters, ,Mary Owens and Daisy Rice.  L. D. is survived by 
his children, David L. Rice of Belding, Chester Burns Jr., Larry Burns, Phyllis 
Dorland, Terry Burns, Louise Lyons, Dennis Burns, Danny Burns, Clayton Burns; 
his brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Helen Rice of Belding; and one 
granddaughter.

Funeral and committal services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Richard Shindorf officiating.  Interment 
will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 
p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the 
American Cancer Society.
