Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 4 Nov 1970

Mrs. Pauline Schafer, 84, of 431 North Main, Fowler, died Tuesday at Ionia
County Memorial hospital following an illness of several months.  She was born
in Germany on August 19, 1886, the daughter of August and Pauline Schultes and
came to the United  States to 1912.  In 1915 she was married to Louis Macholl of
Ionia, who died in 1930.  She was married to John Schafer of Fowler in 1935 and
he died in 1962.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Fowler and
Daughters of Isabella.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Dolphin of Kelsey highway, Ionia;
three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schafer will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until noon Thursday when she
will be taken to Osgood-George Funeral home at Fowler.  Funeral mass will be
Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity church in Fowler.  Interment will be at
Highland Park cemetery.  Rosary will be recited at 3 and 8 p.m. Thursday at the
funeral home in Fowler.
