The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, July 17, 1933

Walter Scott, of Rockford, who met an accidental death last week while cutting 
wood, was brought to Saranac Sunday for burial, Rev. C. O. Heyward in charge.

Mr. Scott was a native of Saranac, but had lived for four years in Rockford.  
He was felling a tree which, as it came down, uprooted another tree, the roots 
of which struck Mr. Scott.  He leaves four brothers, James, of Saranac; 
Wellington, Orleans, and Albert and John, Grand Rapids.
